With over 30 years of experience in the national security arena serving in various roles in government and industry, Katrina Barlow brings a deep expertise to her work supporting federal government and commercial clients in the U.S. and around the world.
Katrina dedicated the first part of her career to government service as a CIA officer, focusing on intelligence collection against high priority topics while serving in domestic and overseas assignments. She continued supporting the intelligence community with SAIC, managing several government programs, capturing new business, and rising to Vice President for an operation focused on national security threats. At SpecTal, Katrina served as Vice President for Government Programs, leading several successful competitions, making a significant contribution to the company’s dramatic growth, and providing leadership for the company’s largest programs.
In 2010, Katrina founded the Reports & Requirements Company (R2C), a business dedicated to assisting clients with identifying value in digital data collections and incorporating new technologies to emerging technology and information challenges. As Chief Executive Officer, her leadership resulted in the rapid development of a highly profitable company with excellent credentials in data analysis, intelligence reporting, and data governance. In 2017, she sold R2C to Buchanan & Edwards (BE) and then continued to provide executive oversight and strategic planning through its integration as a wholly owned subsidiary. Katrina now serves on the BE Board of Directors where she helps refine the company’s strategic direction and governance.
Katrina holds a Bachelor’s degree from the University of California at Santa Barbara and a Master’s degree in International Business and Development from The American University. Katrina has participated in several business associations for small and mid-sized companies and is currently a member of AFCEA, a professional organization that enables military, government, industry, and academia to align technology and strategy to meet the needs of government and military organizations. She also serves as a board member and/or advisor to the Semester at Sea Alumni Association and for Galante Strategies, a non-profit organization that provides strategic consulting on cyber threats and disinformation analysis.
Katrina provides technology and security leadership and assists clients to identify business approaches and partnerships that address the challenges of cyber threats, foreign influence operations, and emerging technologies such as 5G and artificial intelligence. She maintains a broad network of contacts across government and industry developed over the course of her career.
